Browns beach at the southern end of the lake.  Big gravel parking lot.  Good luck!

is it going to be safe this weekend with the warm weather coming in

Saratoga shorelines are always iffy, especially when it gets warm.   FYI: Its pretty shallow right near shore there.

That whole upper half of the lake only glazed over at the last real cold night. After this weekend, it will be wide open again. Drove by on Thursday and it was starting to open already. ... before it glazed over, you could take a boat right out of the launch and go all the way to mannings cove....and fish creek around the launch has been wide open all year.

South end is a different story besides off stony point. Open water over there as well...judging by the reports here, I would guess browns beach area is the only solid area on the lake with walk on access.

I would stay fairly shallow for bluegills - where the weeds start to thin out (8-10').  Unfortunately, with the recent snow pack I think the weeds have died and that's not good for fishing.  Before the snow the weeds were still green.

I found perch in 13-15 FOW recently in very large schools but they were tiny.  Lit up the screen of my LX-7.  I think you just need to move around to catch the occasional larger fish.  Maybe something that imitates the little perch (a fire tiger jigging rapala or similar) would work.  Two years ago on lake george the larger perch were barfing up little ones quite often when you iced them.

Just got off the lake. About 8-10 inches of ice and the slush froze over. Great fishing. We got 5 LMBs a few perch, a pike, and gills.

I was out today.  Ice was still good (8-9") although the top was getting soft when I quit at 11am.  No problem getting on at Brown's,  but only 3 other guys on the South end of the lake this morning.

Just got off Fitch - managed 8 nice gills - then the rain came, got pretty wet - 6"-8" of ice out 100 yds. (8 FoW)a bit sketchier out deeper - edges were a lot softer than when I came off yesterday - any appreciable rain and it's over. No one else out anywhere.
