Not many guys target them in Toga as they used too, don't get me wrong they are in there just not like what it used to be, we catch the occasional one by accident... Lots of walleye and perch to keep you busy tho.

But if you want to target pike look for the usual structure associated with them like weed beds, good luck and tight lines

Spoke to a Town of Stillwater truck plowing the Brown's Beach parking area today - yes park on the left of the restaurant (if you are facing the Lake) and he believes machines are allowed to launch from there.

The name is "Dock Brown's" - Brown's Beach and they (will) have docks.

BTW, when I was fishing in Fish Creek yesterday, two machines (one big front end loader) spent a lot of time cleaning the launch parking area down to bare pavement.

Thanks for the name. Not sure what you meant by they will have docks. I am assuming that they have bubblers and I need to steer clear but please clarify if this is not correct.

I wonder if south shore marina will get bent out of shape that you can park right next door for free(assuming) instead of paying marina $7 to park. I'm sure it equals few grand he will lose this winter.

If the owners at Browns Beach are going through the trouble off clearing off parking lots etc. for another place to park and access our lake we owe it as fishermen to stop in grab a beer, soda, lunch etc. and let them know how much we appreciate them. Does anyone remember when old Bev's bar used to let us park and fish if we grabbed a beer there. When they went out of business I actually stopped ice fishing saratoga lake, that was a great pike spot. Just my opining.

The owner is the town of Stillwater!  I haven't noticed who is plowing but suspect town trucks are being used.  The restaurant people have a lease, it was meant to replace the old ice cream stand that used to be out closer to the beach.

I've used a guy for several years now. He does an excellent job on all of my small engines. He lives in Mechanicville on Rt. 67 opposite the new bridge they built for the rail yards. Works out of his garage at home in the evenings/weekends.

Is the southern end of the lake better for catching walleye than the north end or better for crappie and gills (or both)? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I was out fishing near the creek and there were a few snowmobiles coming from the main lake and into the creek. I cut a couple holes just south of the bridge. I would guess there was about 8-9". I did not measure though.

A lot more weeds on Saratoga this year compared to past few years.  can make it tricky when using flashers but the cover is good for the fish. A lot bigger bass this year it seems .

The new Brown's Beach access has been busy and I'll bet there are at least 10X more people fishing that part of the lake this year.  Going to get hammered pretty hard.

Yah that area is getting hammered.  Last year southern end of the lake was much quieter.  Access to west side of the lake is best way to avoid crowds now....

fb899. I was out off of Fitch on Sunday also. Jigged up a dozen nice gills. No craps though. The bite has actually been fairly slow so far, dontcha think?
