Title: Striker Guardian or Predator bibs?
Post by: markinohio on Feb 15, 2018, 09:17 AM
I have the Striker Hardwater bibs, and LOVE them on the really cold days. However, they are too warm and bulky even with only a hoodie when it gets into the teens and I’m moving around. Looking to catch a deal on either the Guardian or Predator bibs for the warmer days. I like the features of the Predator, but I’m afraid that they are too close to the Hardwater in warmth, and will be too warm for this application?

I have the guardian's  and think they are plenty warm. Buy the jacket for a loose fit and you can always layer for more warmth. This is why I went with the guardians initially, easier to add layers for comfort. But I am mostly in a hub, don't fish outside much unless it's nice out.

FYI - Dicks is running a 25% off flash sale on ice fishing gear today - i picked up a set of hardwater bibs for $172 and then had a $10 rewards cert on top of that.  They had predator bins for $157.

I think my Predator bibs are comfortable up into the high twenties.  I just vent the side zips if it get a little warm out.

I believe the Hardwater has 150g insulation where the Predator has 100g.  That's a considerable difference.

Tight lines,
Bob
