The Barrel is Loose
« on: Apr 26, 2007, 09:49 PM »
Went up to check the ice this evening. The barrel is floating and blown up along a chunk of ice along the east side of the lake. Its still several hundered yards from shore but the way the wind is blowing it wont be long. The ice thats left is very "Blue''. Also rode up th Half Moon. It looks the same way. I cant believe either will last throught the weekend.

I havent been to Boulder in a couple of weeks but I'd bet its wide open. There was some open water by the dam, in fact there was a couple of small boats out there then. It's usually the first to go off. I'll ride up by Fremont again this morning and check it out. The way the wind blew last night it might be open and the same for Half Moon.
