I left my auger at home once.... Thats a walk of shame when you have to walk over to your neighbor and ask to borrow one ! :-\

Last Friday I drove 5 miles before I realised my Spikes and Wax Worms were not in my pocket but still back home in the fridge... ;D ;D
-
I got "sometimers" sometimes I forget stuff and some times I don't know what the heck it was I forgot!
-
the Wed before New Years, I walked out on the ice, and got all the way to where I wanted to be, and realized I'm gonna need my creepers, so I drill my 7 holes, put my auger down, and start walking back to my car; I forgot them in my car.... (there was only 1 other guy out there, and I wasnt worried about him stealing anything)... I walked 10-20 yards from my sled and ended up flat on my back... damn...that hurt...

The day before new years I got my whole set up out and ready to go. Drive out to the lake and meet up with my buddy. I had brand new tipups i got for x-mas that I was excited to use. Reached into my bucket and realized that i left my takle box at home. Had all my jigs and quick rigs in it. Needless to say I spent the morning jigging with some of my buddy's jigs.

yea sounds like a little bit of a pain in the arse day.
I've gone off and left my magots/mousies at home and have to use artifical all day.
I've gone off and forgot my flasher before, for a lousy fishing day.
I've gone off and forgot the minnow net, ended up with very cold hands that day, LOL.
But, I've never forgot the jig poles or tipups.
It won't be the last time you forget something, it happens all the time, keep on truck thou.

I use a 'Checklist'. First thing at top of list = WHISKEY for Snakebites.

Where do you ice fish that you guts to worry about snakes.... :woot: :roflmao:

Count me among the stupid! Forgot the auger, forgot the flasher forgot the grubs. This season, I forgot that I had been using my ice jigs for panfish in the boat. The whole tacklebox full of jigs was stored in a barn 25 miles from home. Had to spend a bunch of money at B&E Tackle replacing some of it.

Well so far this season I have left the spikes home once, walked out of the bait store without my bait bucket & last but not least, left the bases to my tipdowns home. So I say you are not alone and we all do it.

1) forgot my auger new years eve and had to use holes from earlier fisherman.
2) took my nephew ice fishing his first time and packed up all my extra equipment(boots coveralls)for him and left my boots home and had to wear sneakers on the ice all day. nice cold feet but we still caught fish ;D
3) forgot the mousies one day and had to use artificial. hardly any bites but managed 3 perch
4) bait bucket tipped over in the back of the truck on our way to a tournament on vly pond. ended up having to drive 15 miles for new bait and fished another lake only catching 1 pick all day.
so ya, we've all been there and done that. just builds character and stories for hanging out having a cold one. tight lines and stay safe

I believe that has happened to ALL of us ... I'm always trying to remember what I forgot!

Two years ago I got got up at 4am for the 1 1/2 hour trip to Vets Park. I loaded the car up the night before and got as far as Fish307 before I realized I had forgotten my coat and then was even more miffed when I found out Walmart in Glens Falls only stocks bathing suits in February.

Trouser snakes ...
only bad if a snow snake bites you there
-
Them alaskan snow snakes are the worst. If you fall down, they'll crawl up your a$$, and freeze you to death ;D

Fished a tourney a few years back with my 10 year old brother in law. We got everything set up and when we went to cook breakfast we realized that we forgot the propane. Luckily for us, the gentleman next to us forgot his auger, but had propane. It ended up working out for both of us! ;D
-
I forget what I forgot, but I had several dozen bait in a bucket tip over and dump in the trunk of my honda accord some time during a two hour drive. I salvaged enough bait for us to fish with, but my trunk was never the same.

i was going with a friend after he got out of work one time i told him i would bring the gear and he could pick up the minnows for tip-ups and i would meet him at the water. we met at the launch and loaded up the gear on the sleds and asked him where the bait was he said " i knew i forgot something ! " the closest bait shop was 1 hr. drive away. needless to say he was not happy about comming back from getting bait and i had a good mess of perch already on the ice by getting 1 on berkly bait and then using perch eyes. but he is a avid tip-up fisherman and dont jig to much. his loss for his stupidity.
