Agreed this forum used to be a fantastic place where I learned plenty of skills that made me a better angler that I am today. Met many great people and had a fun time. Most of those have moved on. I won't complain with lack of posting on here as it is a horrible ice year. But it's obvious that these forums are on the decline. Hopefully this forum doesn't become the way of myfishfinder

..........ANSWER......+500 METRIC TONS (AV). IF ALL THOSE FORECASTURES FROM U OF MASS.,NOAA,ETC. ON CAUSE OF CLIMATE CHANGE ARE TRUE NORTH EAST WILL CONTINUE TO "WARM" BOTH SUMMER/WINTER... I'M ONLY THE COLLECTOR OF INFO.....TRYING TO MAKE SENSE OF "NO ICE"....TAKE CARE GUYS

The volcanic eruptions in 2022 and 2023 have released more CO2 and methane than humans have in all of their history. Years that major volcanic eruptions happen are historically warmer in the winter. This is fact and has been proven time and time again.

I got on a couple of north central ponds yesterday to pass the time. Fishing sucked and ended up with 3 small bass and 2 rat pickerel all day. Ice varied from 7in to 2in at the 2nd location and was a uniform 6 to 7 at the first location.

Only had to travel about 40 miles from my house to find 7" of ice. It's not always about catching big fish as yesterday all we landed were some of the smallest pickerel I have ever seen. But we were on the ice on a pond I'd never have fished. Good friends a lot of laughs and beautiful scenery. That's what its about. Not bickering over every little thing. Those that are able to afford to find the ice will and those that can't. Just can't. No reason to bash anyone on way or another. Be safe everyone.

Nice work Jeff! I got out in the Otis area on 8+" as well. Only a bass/pickerel pond but one guy in the group landed a 19.5" bass that only hit the scales 3.75lbs. Would easily be 5 in the spring but fun trip nonetheless and even got in a game of pitch in the shanty.

Lots of guys at Cheshire on Saturday (1st lake northern basin). maybe 5" of ice with some slushy snow on top. Not sure how much snow they're getting this week or what the temps are like.

Long forecast looking much better for central mass. Definitely looking forward to closer ice. Everyone cross your fingers, arms,legs,toes and eyes for arctic air .

WELL.....ALL THPOSE GUYS WHO SHOT THE MESSENGER ON THIS TOPIC 1/07/23 WERE WRONG....HERE TODAY ARE THE COLD DAYS THAT WERE FORECAST. AND THAT "WOOD CHUCK" OUT IN PENN. IS ALL WRONG, ITS GOING TO BE AN EARLY SPRING.... NEXT WEEK TEMP IN 50'S AND LITTLE TO NO ICE MAKING IN THE CT. VALLEY IN FEB 2023. ... ITS HARD TO SHORE FISH WHEN THE NIGHT TEMP IS BELOW 32 DEGREES.
