Small Lakes in NW Iowa

How is the ice thickness on some of the smaller lakes in NW Iowa? Some of the ones that I have driven by have open water yet.

Not sure what you refer to has NW Iowa......

Most are capped and have decent fishable ice. You can be on 8-9in in areas then get to areas with 3in that had open water not long ago.

These are the lakes I consider NW Iowa

Silver lake
West O
East O
Storm Lake
Spirit Lake
Lost Island area

Black Hawk is good to go in most places, I think.

Anything actually biting at Browns? Went bass fishing there last summer and it looked kind of dead. Lots of fish I saw had been hit with ski boats.
