I have a Otter 1200 lodge and a big buddy heater. I fish a lot at night and very often will have it running on low. I don't have to wear my bibs or coat that way.

I run my big buddy in mine but don't all the time. There are days that I wouldn't want to fish without it!

I have an Otter Cabin XT900 XTREME THERMAL. The first couple of winters I just used the little Buddy and got by fine. Then early this year, on my one and only outing, we had -10 with 15mph winds and I was not all that comfortable. I now have a Big Buddy and have no doubt in my mind I am set no matter what the conditions entail.

Hey Whopper. Got a ? for you. I am new to fishing out of a shelter. I have a Clam vista thermal and a little buddy heater. Do you ever have a problem with moisture after using it for a day ?

You will get frost on the walls but it never drips on you.

If you vent your shack it will help a lot with the condensation. I am going to get one of those fan lights to hang from too hub will move air around and help clear windows up

I used to run a little buddy heater in my otter cabin but had to upgrade to the big buddy heater for fishing on the below zero days. The little buddy just didn't have enough horsepower to keep the shack comfortable on those really chilly days.

Not to the extent of getting wet, like in my old non-thermal.

You have a nice shack there

You said it! When we're night fishing the two mantle lantern usually puts out more than enough heat. I usually only kick the Buddy on if it gets into the low teens or if Mama wants it on. Even at that the low setting will roast you like a chicken.  ;)

Give your son a fish, and he will eat for a day.....teach your son to fish and eventually he'll end up kicking your @ss every time you fish together!!!

I tried running a sunflower heater in my 1 man thermal and it just turned it into a sweat lodge. I think I might have to get something that puts out less BTU's on days that I do decide to run a heater. I mostly don't feel the need to turn on my heater. I just like it to be warm enough to were my hands aren't cold and I don't need a heater to provide that.

I have a Clam Vista Thermal pop up.  I usually work up such a sweat set the damn thing up by myself that I don't need a heater for the first hour or so.  I guess being 69 years old doesn't help either.   After that I use my Mr. Buddy set on low every now an then.  I don't run it constantly unless it's single digits outside.  By running it only occasionally to heat up the inside I haven't had a problem with condensation.  I also keep it well ventilated.
