Do you believe in crappie lakes? What about "red glow" lakes?  :icefish:
I love fishing. You put that line in the water and you don't know what's on the other end. Your imagination is under there. -Robert Altman

Yes, and the lake I live by is not a red glow lake.  The crappies in this lake prefer live bait under a bobber, usually white or green glow jig.  This year I'm going to try even harder to get them to bite on plastics, I have a few new tricks I'm going to try.  There are lakes in northern MN that red glow works wonders, especially the Lindy Rattlin' Flyer Spoon.

Upper Red Lake is a red glow lake, apparently there is an abundance of blood worms there.

Glow lakes - yes, have a few and each seems to have a preferred color and/or glow combo. Thankfully there are plastics out in various colors to hook on the end of a horizontal jig and they will nail it, even over live. Glowing red jig head and a atomic blue wedgee was pretty standard last year, looks like a dying minnow

Some lakes, red glow will outproduce any other glow colors.  Some other lakes, green glow will be the hot producer and so forth.  Some lakes, small crappie minnows, some other lakes fathead minnows and so forth.

I use pink or hot pink almost exclusively when crappie fishing. That is my starting color and it almost always produce. If not I move into the yellows and glows.

But overall the lakes in my area and "pink" lakes
