I talked to a DEC officer a couple of years ago and he was saying there was talk of doing that but nothing has happened yet. Wonder if they changed their minds.
Chautauqua Lake over here in Chautauqua county was in the same situation for years. 18" minimum. You were either catching and releasing 15-16 3/4" fish every time or you would luckily land an 8lb'er. DEC ended up stocking the lake like crazy for a few years with walleye and then finally reduced the size to 15"/5 per day and now, the fishery is fantastic. Not sure if that fishery can be used as an example in your arguments with the DEC.
C'mon, share some info. I do.

AlWays an issue for me.
I live in endicott and used to have to go to stans in Binghamton the night before.
Stan closed last year.Too bad.Monroe’s where always good quality and he was a stand up guy.
So again I’m searching for minnows.I will say that a new place just opened up in Owego. It last I knew they were still waiting on NY license to sell minnows.

I would buy minnows in Endicott if available. At the moment Wayners is the closest source for bait in Chenango forks.

Definitely would stop by for minnows used to go to stans all the time. Shame he closed had great minnows and wax worms were always good sized too.

A new bait shop just opened in Willet. It's not near Endicott but only about 8 miles up the road from Dorchester Park. It's called Anglers Bait and Tackle. It's located directly across the road from the Willet Post office.

I did make the trip and fished Sunday.  Took the wheeler out of the park and ran right across to a hump by the channel.  Me and my buddy caught a couple dink eyes, crappie, perch, a smally, and dropped a few better eyes.  Ran up north and fished the channel by the second island.  Did not mark anything in the channel, but needed to set up the shack at that point.  Ran back to where we started and got a few more.  Ice was good for the wheeler aside from the high water ice chunks by the park.  Man that must have been some flood!  Overall slow day, but we managed to stay entertained and had a nice mixed bag.  Won't be the last time I fish here.  Thanks all for the info.   Tight lines.

Rjavery9832...

You may be open by this weekend...?  That's great - good for you...good for US..!!!

When you have product and you are ready to go - please put your location out there for all to see in advance - I generally get my bait near end of work day on Fridays - so I'm ready to go first thing Saturday.

Good Luck...!

I think once work gets out -  that your triple cities anglers will support you more than you might think.

Would be nice to have a sawbellie supplier that opened at least by 5 or 6 in the spring for reservoir fishing

There is a bait shop in Afton. It is about a 20 minute drive from downtown Binghamton. Hilltop bait, 607-349-1255. They have bait and some supplies. I live on the south side and really miss the convenience of having Stan just down the street.

Awesome!
I've always thought an app based fishing supply delivery service would be a good idea! Like an uber for minnows!

Ditto. If I was a motivated person I may have tried it already.

Was there Thursday didn't see any 4wheelers on the ice. Near the shore there was a good amount of slush under the snow on the ice with  around a foot of snow everywhere I walked.

If action around chasing flags is the goal,  I would maybe go to Long pond for Pickerel.
