Trout up north?
« on: Mar 02, 2018, 10:30 AM »
If I was to take a field trip up to the northern end of this fine state, what bodies of water does everyone think are the best non-laker trout fishing?  We love to target browns most, but have a blast with rainbows too.  We've never fished up north though, so I'd love to hear opinions.

Peacham would be my first suggestion for Browns. Magog can be good brown, rainbow and LLS water.
Fairlee offers good trout water as well.

Some I know of:
Browns - Memphremagog, peacham pond, island pond
Rainbows - Memph, willoughby, shadow lake, caspian, nelson pond, crystal lake

I've tried Elligo four or five times, and gotten a few smaller lakers but no other trout. Gotten some small perch too. I haven't seen them, but are there smelt in Elligo? With it getting so deep by the cliffs, there must be some big fish in there.

There are smelt in eligo, also has burbot, rainbows with really nice color, and lakers. Most of what I have heard of is pretty small but the bows are really pretty out of there.
