Missisqoui Bay
« on: Feb 01, 2018, 11:43 AM »
Heading up there in a couple weeks and was wondering how the pike bite was and what the ice condition is like.  I haven't fished that area in a couple of years and was curious if I should go back or stick to Kelly and Dillenbeck.

Thanks in advance!

Bite has been ok but water clarity due to the recent flooding up there has not been great.....
My Biggest worry is that when I'm dead and gone, my wife will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.

Tight lines and be safe.

Dillenbeck gets tons of pressure.  I Fished for pike on Kelly and managed 1 all day, the water is beautiful there though. I've avoided miss bay until things clear up, its still murky up in the northern sections here.

Forecast looks good and it should start clearing up this week is my guess. It should be prime by the 14th.

Hopefully it clears up by next weekend. There's going to be a lot of people including myself out there for the Derby. I can't wait!

Can anyone fill me in on what the fishing is like on the Alburgh side of Missisqoui Bay just south of the border. Look very shallow in most of that area.  The map shows it as Chapman Bay.  I will be up there starting Feb. 20 and don't want to spend a lot of time prospecting for fish.  I can get around on an ATV if the snow is not too deep.  Any help would be great.  Thanks

Sounds like the pike bite has been slow in other areas this year. Is anyone doing any better/worse/same here?

Got about a foot at my house in North Hero. Drifts are making it hard to get around. A warm sunny day will help to settle it down a bit though. I just got home from Swanton and it looked like a truck had gone out off the rt 78 access headed towards Campbells. Looked like tracks going out and coming back. Snow drifts must have made it interesting.

You can get around up there with no problem. Today maybe close to 100 trucks/campers... Fish on the other hand did not show up.

Heading up in the morning.  Just curious how the edges have held up with these temps?  I'm hoping they are still ok.  Has anyone been out there the last week or so?

Thanks!!
