Snow machine rod holders
« on: Oct 08, 2018, 03:28 PM »
Anyone install rod holders on their atv/snowmobile/UTV for transporting on the ice. I'm looking for something for short distances going from spot A to spot B that I can quick throw my rod in rather than putting it away, not something to transport the rods from the landing as they'll be in my hard case for long-distances. Some sort of clamp is what I'm thinking, nothing too extravagant.
Da Pack!

I have used 3 rod and 2 rod holders, but found the 2 rod fit my setup better. I drilled a hole in each rod position to hook a small bungie in, which I wrap over the reel to secure against particularly bumpy rides

I just added rod holder mounts and used my rod holders from my boat.

Here's my setup. Small bunjee runs accross the reel mounts to keep them from jumping out on bumpy rides.

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy fishing gear....and that's kind of the same thing.

I put pieces of pipe on the back of my carrier with slots for the reel seat and about 4 inches more for the line- the rods go in tip first, and only the handle sticks out. I thought it was safer than leaving them up in the air.
