Frabill 371 inline free spool fix
« on: Nov 19, 2017, 04:15 PM »
One of the biggest complaints about the Frabill 371 inline reel is that the button always accidentally gets pressed while it is in a case causing it to free spool into a big rat nest. Just wanted to share my fix for that. I went to the hardware store and bought some nylon washers and just cut the “O” into a “C” with a razor blade. Then just pop the “C” under the button on the reel to stop it from being pressed. When you take the rods out of your case just pop the C clip off the reel  and leave it in the case to pop back on again when u case your rod. No more rat nest. Nylon washers were .20 Works great with my Otter Sportsman case.

Take a sewing needle and heat it up enough to melt a small hole in the "C". Tie a loop of stiff mono through the hole and you'll have a nice loop to grab and pull with if you have gloves on.

Best idea I've heard in awhile! I've been looking at buying a $70-150 case with the free floating reels because I'm sick of my 371 frespooling in the case. So thanks for saving me all that money!
Da Pack!
