Thinking of driving on at the Katepwa Beach boat launch. I haven't been out since the beginning of January. Is the ice still good for a car?

Hi guys. I used to occasionally fish Pasqua many years ago with a buddy who has moved away and recall catching quite a few cisco. I'm one of the few that find them to be kind of fun to catch! Lol. My better half has now decided that she likes to go icefishing (thankfully) but she gets pretty impatient if the action is slow. I'm thinking that trying to get her into some of those cisco might be fun for her. I've never fished Echo before....where would a guy drive on? I'll be coming from Moose Jaw. Thanks!

I usually stick to Pasqua myself but I believe the easiest access to Echo is at the southwest part of the lake, Provincial Park boat launch. Also this video may be of interest to you, a recent video targeting Cisco on Mission Lake.  From the video you can get a good idea of where he was set up based on the ski hill in the background.  Good Luck.

Five hours on pasqua today, a couple of nibbles and no bites.  Fished in front of Lutherland.  Going to have to find an extension for my strike master soon.  I am not interested in hand cranking that much ice for the minimal results i have got so far this year!

My shack is on Lutherland. Any break in issues there?

Went out Sunday on Mission at Lebret. Tried may different depths 25-42' and not much success. Did manage to catch 3 Walleye, and released 1 of those. 6 Tollabies (Cisco) in the 35' range, but no Perch. Tried Echo later in 25-35' with no luck.

Fished Echo yesterday, 2of us, iced about 20 walleye with only 4 being keepers and 4 nice perch. Lost a lot half way up also! Was a nice day to be out with no wind for a change!

Any access reports for the Mission, Echo, or Pasqua entry's to lakes? Are they snowed in or has there been people opening them?

i saw a post on FB that the access to Echo on the west end was cleared. there is a path that appears to head north, not sure how far it goes.

if you hear about an ice report and if i need an extension i would appreciate it.

I don't understand why the question ''do I need an extension?' is asked repeatedly. This is SK., we get thick ice cover by late winter. Sometimes we need one, sometimes not. The cost of an auger extension is a tiny fraction of ones entire ice fishing equipment and takes up nearly no space.  ???

I have an ion and need an extention on pasqua and echo. my jiffy gas was ok but it is longer. this was all last Saturday, day before big snow. if you go on at the west end of echo you wont get very far as there is a big ice heave right across the lake. maybe one klick east. should be able to get on pasqua at lutherland. heavily used by everyone.

Has anyone fished Bird's Point on Round Lake lately? Is there any pressure ridges of concern this year? Thinking of going out there this Friday. Any info would be great. Thanks,

fished out there 5 or 6 days over the course of this season. the best day we had was new years eve and its steadily dropped off since then. i haven't been skunked there yet but I've also fished 12 hours for only 1 small walleye. I haven't been out there for a few weeks now so things may have picked up again. No ice heaves on the lake to worry about, however the boat launch has ice that has pushed up on shore making it a bit interesting, but still passable.

Took a drive to the valley today. Pasqua,Echo and Mission are pretty locked in with snow. Went on to Echo at the Fort, stopped to chat with a couple of guys. Didn't venture off the main track much, Subaru is good but didn't want to chance a meeting with a deep drift. Wanted to try out the Deeper Pro + I recently purchased. After ten minutes, I'm convinced it will fill the bill. Ion 8x just about bottomed out with the extension on, prob 40 inches of ice. Hope to get out with my new shanty soon, after the guys with the big 4x4 rigs cut some more trails. Thanks guys for the tulibee for my barn cats.
