The Start of Ice!!!

a couple of pics from this morning.......just a skiff on the lake...while ponds are freezing over.......darn beavers....keeping the edges worked over....oh well...just a matter of a week or two....Grump

here in colorado a lot of lakes on the mesa are already fully frozen across the surface but not safe. island lake for brookies, splake, and rainbows in 2 weeks or bust 8)
if anybody from michigan will help me out with the lakes and stuff up here I'd really appreciate it since I'm new to the area.

some lakes have froze(skimmed) right across here but not much ice need calm cold weather a few nights and we'll be good to go!! two years ago i was already ice fishing this time of year. lets see who ice's the first fish of the season!!!

yeah...Kerrs lake....thats the northern end at the culvert....some weed bed there....and beavers...busily chewing down a ton of poplars...and just a skiff of ice ontop of the weedbed....no greenbacks here...that's on the Red River....fishing for them continues right through the winter until iceout....as in most years, it can be very unpredictable......som e boats landing some nice catches...others getting skunked...Grump

checked out a couple of lakes yesterday when i went out fishing(last day in the boat). and a couple had a good amount of ice supposed to get cold this weekend so hopefully have enough to go ice fising by the 10th or so.

Good sign Grump!! I was at my parents today and the pond is frozen right over which is good but it's to bloody warm around here right now hope things straighten out soon! :tipup:
