Whats in your tackel box???????
« on: Feb 22, 2009, 10:54 PM »
I was wondering what everyones favorite lure is? I would have to say mine in a all silver hali. I can catch just about anything on it from smelt to perch, crappie, bluegill, heck I even caught a walleye on it a few weeks ago. Just thought I would ask everyone.

Wolframs - 12 or 14 with plastics but won't hesitate to use 10 - 20. Color? Depends on the fishes preference at that moment.

whatever works, just always keep changing till i find the one. usually no-name teardrops in various colors. halis are way over-rated IMO, especially for the price.

If I had to pick just one ice fishing lure it would be a Custom Jigs and Spins Demon. I have a few in various colors and sizes. That is my go to confidence lure.

You can tip it with whatever your favorite larvae is. You can deadstick it with a live minnow. You can use a dead minnow. You can rig it below a float. You can jig it with no float.

I would have to disagree with you. I catch a ton of fish on them even in the summer. 4 bucks isnt that bad. heck I can find that on the lake from dorks leaving there emptys out on the ice.

# 16 darter jig in gold and orange. Tipped w/mousey. Crappie, gills, perch. Also like demon spoon tipped with med minnie. Walleye and pike. You can never go w/o swedish pimple in any color w/ minnie. Heck I don't know. I like all my jigs and spoons when they are catching fish.... ;D
Having a crappie day and loving it!

for gills :  marmooskas, diamond jigs, rat finkee, and demon glows - especially on a deadstick.
Perch:  the above, + buckshot rattler, hali, and the good ol sweedish PIMP
trout:  the PIMP, jiggin raps
walleye:  jiggin raps, the PIMP

I also have about $90 worth of chubby darters that are great for attracting fish, but I'm at about $23/keeper perch on those things this year.

I start stocking/restocking/upgrading about the time I get tired of gutting deer.  I've got a ton of crap that I rarely use, in triplicate.

My Tackle box has several different jigs in it, but my favorite is either a Chubby Darter, Jiggin' Rap, or Gill Pill.

Seriously...I jave a handful of jigs and teadrops...a few hali's.  it all fits in 2 old Sucrets boxes.  Never needed much else.

SHHHHHHH.... That's the secret weapon. Pour a little Michelob Amber Bock on any lure and it's an instant winner

My wife loves the fact that I can catch fish and not break the bank on lures.  Being a minimalist has its advantages.

my number one lure so far this year has been northland tackles gill getter, color: orange ladybug.  And a few of their small gold and silver minnow lookin spoons.  But when i pull my sled out of my truck if i dont have a dirty thirty of busch light and a lid of grizz its goina be a long day out on the ice.
