Title: 5# propane tanks. Where to buy them?
Post by: The Splash on Feb 22, 2014, 09:41 AM
Meijer, Walmart, Gilroy's, Home Depot, and Lowe's do not have them, I called.  Gilroy's (always overpriced) said they could order me one for 70 some dollars, ridiculous!
I want to run a hose from the buddy heater to a 5 pounder since I pull my shanty by hand most of the time.  All stores have cashed in on price gouging the 1 # tanks and I'm tired of being taken advantage of.  3-4 dollars per one pounder when I can fill my 20 pounder for the grill for under $20?!

Yrs ago I got a 10 lb tank at menards. Never seen a 5.

Mine cost quite a bit more than a std 20 lb and there were only a few 10s available. Ya know - make more 20# so they cost less.

Check with your gas company. I got one a few years ago from our gas supplier

Cabelas is listing them at 74.99  >:(

I think I paid about $35 for mine about 15 years ago and complained because a 20lb was $10 less....

Might want to search craigslist in your area.

Home depot and Lowes both sell them . You have to order online and have them shipped to store or your home. Pricey but worth it if you ask me. Refill a 5 pound tank at uhaul for around 4 bucks.

Got mine from home depot. Shipped to the house in less than a week.  It cost $10.00 for original fill up and new tank purging.
