Well here is my report for today!! Not a good day the DRAG SUCKED THE BIG ONE!!!, Dumped my minnow bucket on my buddy heater so no heat the misses was not a fan, either was I!!!! >:( >:( Marked four non biting fish from 8 to 1 had a little meltdown on the ice glad there were no other shantys around was bad enough my girlfriend had to listen to me!!!! my suggestion is if you dont have a sled or a wheeler and you plan on covering some ground you best eat two bowls of wheaties in the morning!!! snowshoes helped but it was still rough expecially if it going to be as cold as there saying dress in layers otherwise your going to sweat your you know what off!!!!!!

Yeah kowboy, went out of there if your fishing in the shallows its not to bad of a drag but once you clear the point makes for a tough drag had anywhere from 8inch to drifted spots that were close to two feet most of the drag was atleast a foot good luck if you head out tomorrow If I was to do it again tomorrow I would def go out of three mile short drag to deeper water if your going for them lakers!!

Mike I would say yes as of sat there was some spots with 2 ft drifts but for the most part was about a foot, not a fun drag on foot!!! The wind should of blown some of that off but cant say for sure since I dont live right by the lake, shouldnt be a problem with 4 wheel peel!! - Nick

the lake has never had a huge perch population.   When I used to do surveys out there, there was a group of guys that could consistantly catch 10-15 nice perch each time out.   They fished off Public Landing.   From what I understand, there are actually more perch in the lake now then there was back then, according the the trawls the BFS has done.

My buddy and I had good luck jigging perch on this lake last year.  Really good luck.   We didnt encounter any lakers harrassing them at the time, but I think behavior has changed in the last year as others have reported.

My question- how much snow is currently on the ice??  I am hoping a lot of it blew off on Monday with the strong winds.  Thanks in advance.

I don't know. But there is a lot of snow in this area in general. I'm hoping to make it up there Saturday and maybe Sunday if it doesn't rain.

Just got back from glimmerglass - would be tough going without snowshoes - the top has crusted over just enough to keep you on top with snowshoes.

Well, that's one way the Elite Lakefront Homeowners and residents of Cooperstown will get their wish and rid the lake of all these pesky ice fishermen!  ::)
