Never knew you could get a night bite from then. May not want to pack up the tip ups as early next time out.

Hardwaters not joking we just got another 39 and a half and a 41 and a half(no pics) the last two days as well as his fish...that makes 5-6 over 35 this year for the hobbit hut

dog food? I don't know anything about that,we are in a good spot thats why we catch so many, I don't know who this is but shouldn't run your mouth with out knowing your facts..........Its all about the structure

Fishing is great when you have fake structure like Christmas trees, pallets, bricks, fake weeds.

This is getting interesting. so since this lake is a reservoir and is drawn to a very low volume in winter the concentration of fish increases. This lake also lacks an adequate amount of structure due to being manmade. I always wanted to drop some structure in that lake myself. I saw pictures of man made origin that were dropped into the lake in maybe late 70's or 80's. The article was in the new york outdoor news. If I knew where there was a pile of structure, xmas trees,pallets,Brush, I would fish it. I have hit a few spots trolling on that lake in 30 ft. of water and have hung up. It has happened to me several 3 times and it has always been in the same area. Between the trap islands and heading toward the broadalbin boat launch. I would have to think with some good structure off some of the natural rises near some deep drops you could have some luck. a spot in particular would be the first hazard buoy closest to sunset bay. goes from like 23 ft to 40ft in like 10ft. I always take something off that drop in open water. I just have never used alpo. If I wanted to catch trophy northerns theses techniques may work thru the ice. We probably should keep the secrets secrets however. Nice pike by the way. I would love to see someone catch a 50 incher with that kind of girth.
