I fished the basin from 9-1 today. Fish are scattered so keep moving. 1 walleye and 52 yellows.

Here are some pics from today and a couple prior trips.

Where's your report Buckeye?  ;)

YTD: 1741 yellows, 4 walleyes, 5 catfish

When you fish by the pump house where do you park? Do you have to park at Mcintosh and walk from there? A buddy and I are headed up in the morning. Thanks

Drove around the lake today.  There is open water just east of Farmers now.  There were a few guys on the small lake and some other guys fishing west of downtown but east of the pump house.

I was there Saturday and fished by the pump house and the ice was about 6 to 7 inches. I drilled a lot of holes and it was pretty consistant.

Ive been trying to kill enough brain cells thru alcohol abuse to block this winter from memory.  Hopefully next year we are driving out by the 15th of Dec at the latest.  Rain we got the past few days has brought up the rivers so it looks next week when the 50s hit there will be eyes in the bucket.

Mcintosh has a lot of open water, but farmers beach looks fine from the truck. No one is on the lake, and my weather app says the wind is 29-37. I'm not going out w no body else on, so I'm driving for silver.

The ventura marsh is so low that it's gonna take awhile before it starts to flow over the grate again.

Bummed to hear the hardwater season is over so soon.  Sure wish the ice would have held up until the 13th or so.  Thanks to all of you guys who shared your opinions, advice and expertise on fishing, ice conditions, baits, etc.  It was the highlight of my day to read your updates and posts.  Especially loved the pics!

Crappiebuster:  still killing brain cells?!  Do ya feel lost, like too much time on your hands with nothin' to do?  I think it's called WITHDRAWAL.  Haha. It'll be ok....only 9 short months to go.

Luckydog: I thought for sure you'd hit 2000 yellows this season.  You tore it up!  When I grow up, I want to be like you!  Tee-hee

Till next season...happy fishing!

Imma Cubs fan also so I have that saying burned into my brain...............  "Theres always next year"
Hopefully mother nature conforms a bit better than the Cubbies though. ;D

Question above about walleyes spawning in Clear................. ..................Spaw ning success in that lake is close to 0% it relies on stocking basically to maintain the walleye population............ ...They stack up at the outlet though during spawning time thats on the east end of the lake.  You cant miss it because you will see about 20 boats and at least 20 waders fishing the heck outta it.

Prolly wont be any water going over the lowhead this year but anywhere north or south of that on the eastern shore should work.........Shes low as heck maybe even a record low we need a few good rains to get her up a tad.

It's definitely low. I stopped on the Ventura marsh grade yesterday. The water is about 20" below the flow over boards. I talked to the DNR. He said they ran out of water last year trying to dredge a channel in the marsh so they can drain it perodically to keep the carp population down. The water must of been low enough to kill the carp. There's hundreds of dead carp frozen in the ice. It's gonna get pretty smelly when it warms up next week.
It looks like by the end of next week the big lake will be all open.
