I was out on clear lake on wednesday and the ice was 8". I'm going back out in the morning with my brother and I'm trying to convince him to take his polaris ranger so we don't have to walk as far. Are there any springs in the lake that would make the ice thin? I saw a snowmobile and a 4 wheeler on the ice on wednesday so I would think its safe but I just want some confirmation.
