They catch some nice Whitefish in Higgins Lake, and it is usually in 90' + with waxies or spawn.

Crystal Lake in Benzie Co. can produce some nice catches of whitefish as well.

Hey Guys if you are driving west on US 2 about 27 miles from the bridge, Try The CUT RIVER INN in Epoufette. Delicious whitefish chowder and fried whitefish, either in a basket or a sandwich,, Yummie!!!!!

Don't know about Traverse Bay itself but Skegemog off 72 freezes pretty fast on that south end. Good perch fishing there some years.
I like to sit around on the ice doing nothing because my wife won't let me do it at home.

No too often do they freeze up......the last time I remember was about 6 or 7 years ago.

Hey 10inch, The easiest way to post pictures is to go to www.photobucket.com and open an account (100% free) upload your pictures to the site from your computer and then once the pictures are uploaded, you can view the photo on photo bucket, then right click on the pic.  Scroll down to "Copy image URL"  in the menu list and then jump over to IS. When you are typing up a post, look up at the list of icon above the smiley faces and below the B (bold) icon, you'll see a small photo icon. Click that once. This should pop up:  [img.][/img.] Between the two brackets in the middle, right click on the small space [img.]"HERE"[.img] and then select "paste" from the menu. That will transfer the URL from photobucket that you saved earlier to IS. That should do it!
You may call me crazy, but crazy catches fish!
