Hi everyone. I'm thinking about fishing thornapple lake in Hastings for the first time and I'm wondering what are some good spots and what color and bait the bluegills tend to go after? I've fished pine lake a few times and no success to speak of, so I'm wanting to try a are I haven't tried before.
Thanks guys

Go off the public access or Charlton Park. Gills have been hit or miss with size. The wonder bread jigs worked hot but just keep changing color until you find what they want. Wax worms and Spikes seemed to work.

Hey guys. Been out of country the last week and a half, has anyone fished thornapple lake in Hastings lately?
-
Id be curious to know how the ice is with that current flowing through.

Well we went out on Saturday and I caught 21 total. They weren't hitting live bait that good so I switched to plastics and started catching some fish.
There is about 7-8 inches of ice as of last Saturday, so there is plenty.

Where did you get on at?

We got on by Morgan road boat ramp. There were a ton of other guys fishing down by Charlton park area. I don't know how they were doing, I've never even fished there.
