They fight pretty good, the 29" i hooked into gave up a really good fight, gave quite a few good runs, but not the best fighting fish forsure, they like to swim in circles and pull, thats about it.

Personally, I think burbot fight the least pound for pound of any fish in Saskatchewan.  It's just like dragging weight through the hole most of the time, although they can give you one or two head shakes or attempt to make a run.  We usually catch them in the same places as big pike, so after you land a 40" pike, no burbot is going to feel like a very good fight so that could be why I think they are so lazy.

Yeah its pretty easy to tell the difference between a pike and a burbot fight forsure.

Yeah phenomenal hunting up here, fishing is fairly decent hard to find lakes with big fish and hard to get one them unless you know someone, some really good lakes with lots of good numbers, but if you want really good fishing i would suggest heading more east such as Saskatchewan and Manitoba, lots of awesome fishing over there.

This was my first time out for them last year. I caught the first and then the action took right off

My first

The biggest of the night

That was the nights catch, we were only fishing for 3 hours as we had to leave for another lake for lake trout fishing in the morning. We left them biting. The largest one caught had a lake trout in its belly. That's my friends size 14 foot next to the fish.

No where near as big as some of them on here but here it is:

25" and I'm guessing about 5lbs
