Any chance of any more last minute updates on conditions the last few days?  Heading out tonight with plans to fish saturday and sunday in the south east part of the lake.  Any tips would be appreciated!

We were at Rowan's yesterday. Ice is fine. Little sketchy walking on but plenty thick.  Definitely getting soft. Some water and slush on top. Fished the point for 3 hours. 1 bite, nothing landed. Collingwood 0 fish. Sorenson's 2 fish. Very slow day. Fished 10-30fow.

Made it out for a few hours today. Landed one pike that was 20.5 lbs and missed on several others. Colder weather seems to be holding the ice in decent shape for the time being. Heard the burbot are still going strong when you can find them. Good luck folks.

From what I've heard I wouldn't take my truck on at the regional bb73. If you're brave you can get away with a quad still. There is a pile of water on the ice around there already though.

We were out there yesterday no way a truck would get on. Even with a quad is sketchy

Drove on with pickup at Regional Park today---no problems,  drove to north end for pike.  Over 3ft of ice no slush or soft spots.  Everyone out caught some pike.  Some water at access but ice still frozen right to bottom.

Hit the regional this morning drove on at the boat launch after walking around anc checking for the best  heading. Once on the lake the ice is great still need the extension. We caught mostly pike today a tullibee and one decent Walleye about 4-5 lbs.  here are a couple of the bigger pike from today.

Checked out pelican point saturday morning but the ice looked really sketchy there and the distance from the road that heads to the water to the point seemed like a long ways, over potentially very sketchy ice.  The ice being the main concern rather than the distance.  we saw some open water out at the point too.  the ice right at the launch looked really sketchy.  we could have maybe navigated out following the shore until finding decent ice to get out to the thick ice but we opted to go elsewhere.

we went to sorensons saturday morning and immediately upon beginning fishing i caught a decent jumbo perch.  we were fishing in about 20 feet of water under the ice.  There was some sketchy ice right at the launch but if you followed the cloudier (non clear) ice out it was pretty stable and the ice out farther on the lake was still around 2 to 3 ft thick.

after 2-3 hours that perch was all we had caught so we switched to rowans ravine.  We walked out from the beach at rowans and there was a lot better ice near shore there.  we were still selective on our path out to the deeper water with walking on what looked like the better ice.  We did pretty decent for the remainder of the day at rowans.  we were fishing in about 7 feet of water under 3 feet of ice in the bay south of the beach point.  we caught 4 good pike (3-5 lbs) and one ~4 lb burbot and had a few other bites.

Today we went back to rowans and fished off the point in 16.5-22 feet of water under the ice (we had two pop up shacks connected and had a sharp drop from the shallow end to the deep end).  We caught 4 decent burbot (~3-4 lb) and 3 decent pike (~3-4 lb) i believe, in about 3 hrs.  Had a few more bites too.  the 3 pike came from fishing in closer to shore near the point after me and a buddy left the comfort of the shack and were jiggin on chairs with our backs to the wind.  we were in about 10 feet again (7 water, 3 ice) where we had the pike action.  we had one pike bite out in the deeper water but it got off before it made it on the ice.

Even with the snow we got this weekend, getting around on the lake dragging the sled was incredibly easy, even with large loads.

I would agree that i would probably not consider driving a truck on at any of the southern access points.  for the most part the ice farther out on the lake is very solid but almost all the access points we checked out looked incredibly sketchy.  like they may have even been open water earlier last week and the mini cold spell we got just before the weekend refroze them.  If the weather gets really warm again, walking out at some locations might even get really sketchy.

Good luck and be safe to everyone who goes out there!

Anyone driving on at Wee-too?  Temps look to be holding steady for most of this week so don't imagine the ice deteriorating much this week.  Hoping to be out there on the weekend.  I will definitely check things out when I'm there and wouldn't risk it if things aren't safe.

We're hoping to get out for some Burbot/Pike tomorrow or Thursday. Heading out from Kenaston direction and only familiar with Etters area. Would like to try somewhere else on the lake. Can anyone suggest any other spots that you can walk on and get to depths or spots for the Burbot bite? Thanks

My son-in-law walked out at Pelican Point yesterday pounding various depths and found the water very murky with basically nil  for action.
I'm heading out to Pasqua/Echo tomorrow. Keep it safe folks!

Walked out on midway last Saturday looking for dirty burbs seen a bunch of burb skins in a half froze hole and a yote dragging one off. Was about 11 ft with the ice so I dropped a line, no bites so I moved out to 14ft with ice started getting sketchy hits but wouldn't take bait. After 15 mins of hard bottom bouncing I pulled up a 2 lb Wally. Got around 26 hits that day caught 4 eyes they were so sketchy on taking the bait but when they did they ran hard. Didn't get any burbs but for 2 hrs fishing 4 eyes was good enough after a day of work. Ice was good little water near shore where trucks drove on but good to walk on still over 2 ft of ice just watch out for soft spots. Good to see eyes hitting as I hear it was a hard fishing season at times out there.

Went out this morning, probably one of my best days out this year steady walleyes and perch till noon. All the walleyes were really aggressive, barely see them on the flasher and there hooked up. Hopefully get one more day out there

Was at at Hendersons today was still good there drove quads on with no problems no water on the ice anywhere and still a good 2 1/2 feet of ice anywhere we drilled. Ended up putting 11 pike on the ice. 14lb 7oz being biggest. 4 around the 8lb range and the rest 2-4lb range.

Had to pull the quad up onto the ice today out of the water by shore. Once we got out onto the ice we did well on burbot with the odd pike mixed in. Have to thank the only other group out there today. 70 miles of lake to fish on but they drove right between our holes and fished right beside us. I guess it's easier than finding your own spot... Good luck on the open water this summer boys!
