i've used them during open water season in waters with perch but mostly caught bluegills on them, they seemed to work just didnt catch many perch on them.

They do work all right but they aren't a suitable substitute for the real thing in my mind in most situations. Stick with the real thing.

Gave up on live bait, do as well or better with Gulp. Chartruese has been good for Perch on a orange JamminJig bobber fry, small but good combo.

I use them and I catch just as many fish on them as I do live bait.  I lake how you can catch more than one fish before having to rebait.  I have caught many different species on them not just perch. :)

How long do they last, say how many fish per bait can you usually get?

I've caught 9 perch on one bait but 4-5 avg. is more like it. They are fairly soft but are solidly re-hooked quick and easy so you get back down there faster. Actually when split/ripped I think they work better. Just remember to take them off the hook when done, they dry hard.

this is not a scientific study but i was whacking bluegill, white, and yellow perch today as soon as i walked on the ice using a pimple with a meal worm.  figured it was a good time to try my GULP! white maggots because the fish were there and figured it would save me time rebating, hooked a piece on the same size as the meal worm and it was like fishing in desert, switched back to the meal worm and caught fish immediately.  i'm not necassarily giving up on them, maybe i need a different color.  my $.02

I have use the ones by Berkly and they seem to work well for Gills but nothing else... Now I have used the pink color nuggets and they worked for Perch... Maybe I need to do more testing as well...

They are a good backup plan - still prefer the real deal.
