salmon eggs

does anyone use salmon egg clusters on tipups for rainbows in very shallow water?

I use Gulph egg clusters with good effect. I don't know what you consider shallow water but with tip ups I like 6-20 fow for Bows with the baits 3-7 ft down. Some like deeper but this works for me.
