Madison WI - how is the ice?

Has anyone been out on the lakes recently? Would like to head out this weekend.

I have not been out, but so far the ice varies from lake to lake.  I consistant 2 inches I have heard...

I checked in Marshall last nite. 1/18. 6" at the shore but 20 feet further it was maybe 1.5"
