My father-in-law lives up on Long Lake in near Spooner, WI and he says that people have been out on the lake fishing for a couple of weeks.  The local bait shop down the road from him says that they have 5-7" on the lake.  They are up on the narrows of the lake so I don't know what the rest of the lake looks like.  I plan on going up there next week to try it out but havn't fished that lake in the winter so I don't know where to start.

I ahve been on the ice for the last 3 weekends in upper St. Croix county and lower Polk county. Plenty of ice. 5-6"

Last weekend I fished Pine Lake on friday evening and Bear Trap on Saturday. I have not fished Lake George yet.

I have not been to Bone yet.

I am heading up to Straight Lake on saturday. We may jump over to Big Butternut for a bit too. I hear they are catching jumbo perch on Big Butternut.

Up in Douglas County, in the Gordon area, I measured 9 to 9.5" in about 6 different holes today.

Fished three lakes in Polk Co. this week.  Church Pine, Deer, and Cedar.  All slow! Ice is good enough to ride wheelers, Cedar has real good ice. More and more shacks are being put out each day.  Rumor has it Cedar walleyes are hitting from 1:30 p.M to 7:30 P.M.  tried last night, caught two small perch and one other big fish that broke my line.  Also heard Ward lake is hitting good and Big Trade in Cushing is hitting good.  Hope it helps fellas, I have to head back to work now since I work weekends.  Let me know how you did or if you have heard of other lakes that I could fish this next week.
