4"hand auger
« on: Sep 11, 2009, 08:48 PM »
I have been looking for a 4" hand auger
does any one know of a place to get them
I saw on on Canadian tier but dont want to send to
canada

I have been thinking a 5" could be ok but I want to
drill a lot of holes as quick and efortlessly as posible

I have a 8" lazer hand auger
and a Strikmaster 2000 mag 8"

The lazer cuts great but is just to big for a hand auger
I started with this when I only could have one auger
Ill keep it but want a small auger for moving around
with my Eskimo QF2

Nils Master makes a 4.5" auger. I don't know anyplace that has them in stock now though.

There has to be a 4 inch lazer out there somewhere. They still make blades for it.

Nils master would be the way to go. Their 4.5" auger works awesome. I bought two (each for half price) towards the end of the season at fish307.com
You probably won't find them in stock anywhere  yet.

I have a 5" Strikemaster Lazer and turning effort is quite a bit less than my 6". I highly recommend going with the Normark Finbore in 4.5". I have a 6" Finbore and love it, I am picking up a 4.5" Finbore this season. The Finbore is a fast auger, has replaceable blades and a folding offset handle. Fish307 should have them in stock after while.

I own a 4" strikemaster lazer. Strikemaster stopped making them about 2 years ago, so you're only chance of finding a new one would be someone's old stock. I love mine I have it mounted on a 18v drill and it just smokes through the ice. If you do find one get an extra set of blades for it before they stop making them too.

Fish307 will probably get the augers in stock november sometime. They will probably have them in stock before they have them on the site. Could give them a call closer to november. Just save one for me. ;D
