If there's one, are there more?
« on: Dec 22, 2010, 05:38 AM »
There's a SMALL pond, I found one site that claims it's 54 acres, but looks and feels like it's actually no more than 15 acres. I've been fishin this pond for a couple years now, and just started to catch a few 3"-4" perch off the bottom. As soon as the first one hit the ice, I started to just jig from then on with little success. I and a few other IS friends have tried to target the perch (6"+), Yesterday Oldschoolben iced a nice 6" perch suspended over 10 FOW. I guess the perch have "been there for at least 4 years". All we keep icen are 3"-4" perch.

My question for the pro perchers,
If there was ONE 6" perch, what are the chances of there bein a ton more? I've done everything I can and know about perchin, so I'm at a stand still. Any help, tips and or advice on tryin to find/ catch the keepers would be more than stellar!!!

Boy the way Glenn Miller played
Songs that made the hit parade.
Guys like us we had it made,
Those were the days.

And you knew who you were then,
Girls were girls and men were men,
Mister we could use a man
Like Herbert Hoover again.

Didn't need no welfare state,
Everybody pulled his weight.
Gee our old LaSalle ran great.
Those were the days

Probably would do a growth rate search. 3-4 yrs, cold water, quantity and quality of food, initial stocking numbers, other predators...........6" may be about it and possibly not many, for NOW
