Title: One and done x 2
Post by: blufloyd on Dec 17, 2007, 06:58 PM
Well me and Howard hit a famous central Illinois crappie lake today. There was almost ice.
I try and humor the boy once a year by risking life and common sense and all that stuff I tell
rookies about ice and go sauntering out on some film, skirt, or dusting of frozen liquid.
It was crappie today for sure. Less than 2 of 'ice with couple inches of snocone slurry on top.
Howard corners a fishy spot dat com'n fishie won't bite though. So I gotz to get the old minimiter
over a wiggle it for dis fish.  Pretty ez when knees are knocking on crackling ice thinner than a plumbers
tailend crack. Yep up she comes 9+.  No skunk and still dry.

Time too head for another spot.   Ha you thought the last spot had thin ice? Less than 3 spins and thru.
Dis is da spot where the boy sticks a dink and well we both know we flirted with the ice gods and time to go.
With the rising water and temps it is done for now. See you guys up north till January...
