The way I read it they (IMGUR)don't want to be used for commercial use or bad stuff , or they wouldn't have a link for ( message boards and forums) I load all my pics to a folder on my PC so if there are problems I'm covered , and I never deleted PB just stopped using them , so all my pics are still up on line for now at least
Only time will tell , and i would understand if there was a small fee for this kind of service

photobucket has 3rd party links too, that's the problem. we think because they give us links to use, we can use them. and it used to be free.

i'm with you on having them in several places at the same time. if imgur decides to enforce their no 3rd party linking like it says not to do "(Also, don't use Imgur to host image libraries you link to from elsewhere, content for your website, advertising, avatars, or anything else that turns us into your content delivery network."), then no harm as far as the original content, but their will be harm done to the images that were linked to sites like this one.
some of those photos now gone will never get replaced because the people are gone that put them back up.
right now most of us can fix our posts that we feel are important enough to redo the photos.

example: http://www.iceshanty.com/ice_fishing/index.php?topic=309016.0 and this is a "sticky" that no longer works. so it was important enough for the staff here to make it a sticky, but now it's toast.

also, since i switched from photbucket to postimage, i can save web pages from here and it keeps the images now. it wouldn't when we used photobucket. i ran some testing on this. works when saving web pages with photos linked to imgur also.

to me, it looks like postimage is the best choice, for now. they might not be able to handle the 100 million users that photobucket is losing if every one goes to them for long. they do not say linking 3rd party is against their TOS like imgur does.

as you say, only time will tell.

What site have you guys found to be the easiest to use? I'm no computer guy by any stretch of the imagination, I'm the guy who wants to give it a tune up, if you know what I mean.

i have only used two sites. photbucket with all of their ads that ruined the experience and postimage. post image has no advertisement with the browser i use (tor browser).
super easy to use and they allow 3rd party sharing and are the only one that does. my advice is try them out. if you don't like it then try imgur. i know i opted not to use imgur because of their rules of not linking to forums at all.

I've found Postimage.org much simpler to use than both Photobucket and Imgur.

ive been using imgur its similar to photosucket but a lot faster.when that stops working I will use postimage that seems easy too.

I found a mod for this place and the admin got it on it's feet.

Add Photo is now an option while posting here!
You'll notice we have an add attachments and other options to our posts as an option now! (militia only)

Testing it from my phone by just taking a photo of whats near me and posting it. The plug in does not make you log in.

Looks like a great new well over due option for all of us to post images.
Give it a go. It doesn't use IS bandwidth.

It's a thumbnail that you can click/tap and it takes you to the host site and you can make it full screen there and save it along with other options.

Couldnt be much easier than that......10 seconds to create new account and login with the password they email you. 5 seconds to create a folder and a couple second to upload an image to PI.

write that password down somewhere, I tried to change mine to something simple for me, and when I gave the current password I was told that it wasn't valid, so I tried again and got the same message, guess you have to use theirs.
