Sarge300 and myself got out and did some scouting today as well. We found pretty much the same conditions as you stated. Good luck to ya Vex and let us know how you do! Brendan

We're close initforfun! If we could just get some cold weather without snow we'd be golden! The part i wanna fish of that lake is froze, just no way to get to it........ Maybe i could through the woods tho... GOnna have to try it!
Fishhead, when it locks up and gets good and solid i'll take ya! You wont beleive it, its an awesome lake. I fish 2 lakes that are just like that. No cottages, surrounded by woods, reminds me of canada!!
Do i haveta take the ice gear to ur place next wk, or wont you have fishable ice yet?

I might call dan and see if i can borrow his floating ice suit ;D Then i can fish on 1/4" if i wanna.. Just gonna have to bring a BUNCH of handwarmers. Where did you fish yesterday?? Please tell me u didnt really drill a hole at the end of the dock and fish off the dock.... Even tho it wouldnt surprise me if you did.

I kno what ur sayin tho Mr. My pond is fishable also, will pry fish it tomarrow just to scratch the itch a little, but i really wanna get on some lakes...
Me n a buddy are gettin all the shanties, augers and rods out tomarrow to get everything ready to go for wednesday.

Your getting your gear out for the first time tomorrow!?!? Are you kidding I bought 4 new reels all new line about 100 teardrops a new auger and a scoop. Ive been dieing for this for aobut 3 weeks now.

Dont worry, i've been buying enough crap, 3 more ice blue rod/reel combos are all spooled up with button thread. vex's are charged, just havent got the other rods out, or the shanties. Been too busy deer huntin and even workin!!!! :o

no that aint me, its my buddy! I had the spud in the back of the truck, but its much more interesting to just go runnin out there and see how far you can make it!! Its not #$%$ lake RC. Its the lake me, u, bricker, and uriah fished that one day after **** lake kicked out ARSES that day! That was the day i almost ran into the 4 wheeler... :o
What lakes ya got to try out? Shoot me a pm to see if i know any of em. O yea, and i just remember, i have 1 new lake we gotta try this year too, should be a good one for pannies and the ever sought after WALLEYE!!!!!

I dont go ice fishing to get cold, i go to catch fish (right RC??) Plus i dont want everybody know how we're doing, and they cant see inside the shanty. Our freezer is done filled right up with venison. I got 4 deer in there, dad has 1, and sister has 1, i'll try and kill 1 maybe 2 more does and call it a year for the deer.

I dont hunt state woods Hollywood. I thought about it this year, did some scouting in Allegan state woods and found some real good acorn ridges and thick bedding areas with lots of buck sign. Just never made it around to hunting them at all. I hunt all private property. I have 2 seperate farms up north i lease totalling 100 acres, and 4 good permission spots around home. I dont gun hunt past opening day, maybe 1 or 2 times after that to kill a doe, then the bow comes back out, this is the first year in 5 yrs i've killed more than 1 deer with a gun. 2 does with a gun, buck and a doe with my bow. NOw im back to strict bowhunting again.

My freezer is still way to full now. Been stuffin' it with venison. I kinda wonder were in the heck I am going to put all the fish I am going to catch this year? I actively fill about 3 freezers a year. Between blueberries, venison, pork, and fish.....well the economy won't keep me from going hungry this year. And I know there are some guys out there that will cry about me being a game hog. But I say it is all in your priorities. I do exercise QDM and that entails bringing the doe population in check. (which I have had little success in controlling that) But I try, and there is quite a bit of doe meat in the freezer. As for the fish...I caught them over a half a dozen lakes the have public access on them. And the pork ...well I helped a farmer out with a hog that broke its leg.

Wont be hearing no complaining from me RC. As long as im not accused of being a game hog neither will you! I sure am ready to stack up the fish tho! Venison is stacked, need some fresh fillets!

I am thinkning of having a fish fry soon. I will have to pretend that I just caught them. I have about 200-300 left. That will just get me to the new ice fishing season.

Yea we usually do a big ol fishpry the end of december with both sides of the whole family.. Its kinda funny actually, one side is really conservative and kinda laid back, and then there is the other side, the side i take after, roughneck beer drinkin rednecks! Hopefully the "spec" lake freezes up quick this year, cant wait to get out there and hammer some pike and specs!

You know that kills me.....last year i had the neon out smelt fishing...and you guys all snickered at me. Now this year I have the Chevy crew cab...and you all are clammering over the neon. Gas is $1.43 a gallon today...Diesel was$2.55. Common guys have some honor....drive the truck. I am sure Genz won't be rolling up in a neon...or anything else smaller than a V6

Nah i aint that bad off RC, i stashed away some cash during the summer. I'll catch some fish for ya this winter while you're in work RC. Gonna be a slow winter for us, put in a good word for me at ur work, then i can come be ur BITC*

I am not satisfied with my job....and I would not recommend this job to anyone......no work is better than this work. Heck we could all move up to Alaska and start out own guide service. It is either that or start our own sporting goods store. We would put all these bems around here out of businesss.

CP, its a truck, not a driveway ornament like so many of those darn pretty city boys treat em.... If i wanted a driveway ornament id get a car, but i dont. I usually dont beat on her too bad, just the deer keep gettin in the way! Although there was the time chasin coyotes through a chisel plowed cornfield.......

Nah I haven't gained much weight....I guess this new insurance policy I got said I have to get a physical....blah. They will need to velcro to blood preasure sleeves together to get it to rap around my arm. I guess no more omeletos with gravy on top......I hate doctors......

lol i hate doctors also!! And dentists! Hate em all. Except the assistance at the dental office i used to go to were REAL hott, so i always had fun with them when i had to get my teafers checked up on! But no health or dental insurance anymore, so no more of that crap.
