I use this when we have snow and I can haul behind the snowmobile from the house or I take the ATV loaded with gear

I love the rod holders. How are they attached to the box? Looks like zip ties. Light weight and snug. Great idea

Yeah they are zip tied to the half bucket Frabill thingy-bob in front, and that is bolted to the main box. The one single rod holder in back is zip tied right into the main box.

i do not see any sleds with gas augers... my issue is I have an otter sled that I pull by hand... it fits in my small car nicely but the auger does not fit with everything else
I have both gas and hand auger. They both fit in the kick sled, but I usually stick with the hand to keep weight down and more room for other gear.

The new sled.

For when the ice isn't thick enough for the big sled.

Yeah thats a sweet idea! I might have to do the same but add a little more ground clearance for these snowy northern ny lakes.

Side brackets would work.... auger on one side - shelter on the other for weight balance.

Chains I got for about 70 X 2 for 140.00 Automatic Distributors

Lights I got from Yamaha dealer when I bought the ATV. My wife has a Polaris XP550 with the brightest lamps I've seen on a stock vehicle. Much better than my Grizzly with the PIAA's

Drill all the way thru the ski and countersink the screws from the bottom of the ski.

lets see if i can do this
this sled was built by my brother that no longer fishes but had to much time on his hands and to much emt conduit . i will post the mods i made later ,all i added was a set of skiis so it rides higher in loose snow its all emt bent and welded together , my shappell set down over the frame so it won't slide off with a stop in the back and front to keep it in place . can't beat it . and i would almost be willing to bet you could pull it at a 100 mph down the lake behind a sled it's that tough

Skidly -
I am intrigued by your auger.  Looks like an electic drill attached to a Mora bit.
Do you carry a generator? deep cycle batteries and an inverter?  How does it
work?

That is an Electric Drill we power it with a generator carried on the back of the RZR

Got a Drill adapter last year at FishUSA (I think) and a StrikeMaster hand Auger

I feel like I should have theme music kicking across the ice. (low rider from the movie Up In Smoke) I know it looks different than what any one usually sees.

I was doing a brisk 8mph with 150 lbs of gear and my fat carcuss too, this week end with very little effort.

Yea! I thought about cutting some holes for speakers into my sled box, but just couldn't do it. the headphones seem to work fine and much lighter and smaller than a deep cycle battery.

Hey Scott how does the first sled with the raised red skis pull in deep snow or slush?

hey goatskin, the one w/red skis isn't mine, but that is the exact reason he raised it like that! too bad we haven't got enough snow this year to test it!
