Solid Day on Schroon, Again!
« on: Feb 07, 2013, 06:36 PM »
Fishing with good friend Paul from Ausable Forks.  13" black ice, south basin.  10 tipups, 3 flags, no fish, but jigging was hot, 3 keeper Lake Trout, biggest 22", 4 shorts, 5 lost at the hole. I think my tipups are going to stay at home, jigging for me!

Are you hitting them in the flats or deeper. Looks to be everyone is doing well with the jigging lakers. Hows the perch jigging going.

were using icecicles on little treble hooks on the bottom in 50 fow for the lakers and for salmon we set them about 5-10 feet under the ice. perch are few and most are dinks.

You can catch smelt on Schroon jigging Hali's and a small grub, mostly over deeper water.  Electronics really help.
