Title: Crescent Refuge
Post by: swampdonkeyice on Jan 03, 2019, 09:26 AM
Does anyone know why the road to Blue is closed?  Drove in yesterday (1/2/19) and it was closed.  Went to Island instead, caught a few small bluegills, perch and largemouth.  The ice was 10 inches or more on Island.

Access to Blue is available through a lease agreement, so that road is closed anytime that it is not easily passable.  We do not want the road torn up, do not want to lose the access agreement.

If you want to check on road conditions there, 3098-763-2940.

With the water as high as it is, I'm sure the road in to Blue is full of or under water.

If you do find the road open in the future, I would be really interested in what fish you find there.  I'm pretty sure you could find Sauger, saugeye, pike, muskie, and maybe perch, bluegills, and Crappies if the pike haven't eaten the ones that were left in there.
Good Fishing,
Keith

Visited with 2 people today and both said Blue is now loaded with carp and the high water will only bring in more.
