There's enough snowmobile tracks now that you could probably stay on those and not get stuck.
I was on my snowmobile on Upper yesterday. I did see some open water where creeks are flowing in that made me nervous. Those may get worse with this warm weather. Be safe.

I now call Upper the dead sea. I haven’t caught a trout from there in 5 outings.

Thanks W. C. Just wondering if it was an option. Will most likely just hoof it.

I live a short drag from Upper. This is my 3rd year on the ice here and I've caught one fish total. A stocked brookie.
I've caught a few rainbows and brookies and smallies and some baby largemouth in open water.
Not somewhere that I'd drive to fish.
I'm missing my pike pond in VT. Was always some action there.

Not that I like catching stocked fish but...they stocked over 2,000 trout in Middle and Upper since September.
You'd think that might get us a few flags per day.

Lakes and ponds this year  with out many streams and brooks  running in around circumfrence  with this dense snow cover have a low oxygen which kind of puts fish into a slow mode like a state  of hibernation as the plants need sun light to grow which the water gets more oxygen.

That's where I caught the one fish. And I've always put a trap there since.
