Gall fly larva from goldenrod

How many of you use larva from those golden rod galls?  They were about the only bait I used for jigs when I was a kid.   Really good on bluegills but caught a fair number of trout on them too

I used them when I was younger and had better access to finding them.  They do work well but takes a lot of time finding them and cutting them open.  But if you have easy access to them they work!
