Week trip
« on: Oct 03, 2023, 04:37 PM »
Hello, I am looking to spend a week on a lake in Maine and looking for some suggestions. Species we are targeting are salmon and trout. Looking for a place we won’t get skunked and offers a chance at some biguns. So far we have fished Moosehead, Eagle, and East Grand. Moosehead being the only really successful trip. Any lakes we should look into? Thanks in advance for suggestions!

This won't help at all. But, I jigged up a couple monster floating browns yesterday! Hopefully it at least made you smile  ;D good luck in your adventures
Fishing is easy. Catching is the hard part.

It's a bit early but you might think about trying Tunk Lake.  It's off route 182 and if it freezes good this year might be worth a try.  Ellsworth is the nearest city and its east of there.  There are 4 water bodies within a few minutes of each other and 3 are open to ice fishing.  Access is pretty easy.    Long pond is closed to ice fishing but Tunk, Round pond and Spring River Lake are open to ice fishing and close together.
