It was a catch to remember not because of the fish size. It was 1 in the afternoon i had all my stuff packed up at that point i caught 3 lakers and a bow already so I was about 30 feet from my tip up and that thing went off. I ran to as any of us would i look down at my spool and there is nothing Left but a knot tied off. I immediately smash thru the iced up hole. I grab it and wrap it around my hand and i knew i had a lot of line to take in 300yards + leader. At first i thought i was snagged on a rock for the first 50 yards it had a lot of pressure on the line then it gave free, pulled the line in another 100 or so thats when i felt her she ran with some more line. It took me about 45 minutes or so to get her to the hole. That's when the fun started i knew she was big when I had a 10" hole and she covered most of it when she would swim by the hole it took me a few trays to get her up the hole. Finally i put the string in my arm pit and kind of just bear hugged her out of the hole. It would of been nice if someone was there to help but made the experience that much more fun!!!! For this i got to thank my Dad and enjoying the outdoors not only when the fishing is good but when it is bad also.

Fish of a lifetime man. I put a lot of time on that lake for that very reason. I know the quality of fish that is in there. It's slow but well worth it. Congrats on a great fish!

8lbs for the most part real careful on pullling it in. knew it was big just not how big!
