Magic Res.
« on: Feb 02, 2010, 08:02 PM »
Fished Magic on Sunday. New to ice fishing in Idaho. Followed the crowd on the ice but we fished deeper water. Did ok on perch, 15 to 20 good sized. Fished 40+ feet of water and picked off quite a few rainbows mid water column with the Vexilar. High point of the day was a 12 inch smallmouth!  Good ice, Safe, combination of frozen slush and ice was about 20 inches. Get out there and Gig em!

Hey T, great fishing report!
Were you fishing off the western side by the lodge or off the eastern side? Been to magic once this year and had 2 bites. Bummer was I had my married daughter w/ me for her first ice trip and she decided to stick w/ summertime crappie. I think I should be able to get her to go to cascade w/ me though after some of those hog perch.

Sorry for the delay, Don't have easy internet access. I was fishing on the west side by the lodge. Just south of the little island like 100 yards. Yeah it is tough taking out first timers, they just haven't got that die hard attitude yet!
