Slow lake but there’s some good fish in there.

If you do not catch fish in an hour, move. Do that until you find fish. They just changed it from 2 traps to 5 traps for the first time in a few decades, so there is that.

The best advice if you don't find fish under the ice is to move and fish in open water.  Water has 3 states....liquid, solid, and gas/steam. I haven't mastered catching fish in steam yet  ;D

I don't know about that, Nick.  I keep trying.  At some point, I'll just blow smoke, catch on fire, and turn to dust.....never know at my age ;D

How’s the open water been?

As expected, January started strong, but tailed way off.  Still scraping up a few, but Feb. and Mar. will be very tough from the look of things.

4-6" of ice in the Vega area with more snow to come, should make a lovely mess.
