And I do?!? lol. She got a chuckle from reading your post. Said thank you. We actually have 3 grandkids. 13, 11 and 5 yrs. I knocked her up at an early age so we could enjoy ice fishing while we are still young later in life. Did the parenting thing. All done w that.
No I haven’t. Not even sure if it has been plowed out.
Jiggin are you out there now?
Yes out here. Caught #4 Laker and finally the perch. Got him filleted up and about to cook him for a afternoon snack. Breezy
All released except for the perch. I’ll “release” him Later
Perch Snack Cusk just before I leftThat must have been a good size perch; that’s a good size fillet I guess to load videos i still need to use Youtube....
Just got in. Plowed out Wellington parking lot. I didn’t check the ice but heard there is 8” of black ice. Best to check it yourself as I plan to in the morning. Hoping to launch from there early in the am. Gonna be extremely windy and cold tomorrow. Will be a rough one.
Thanks for plowing Jiggin! We’ll be launching soon and if Wellington is good to go it will be a bit easier than from Cummings!
01/06/2018Launched from Wellington State Park. No issues getting on or off the lake there. CH decided to stay home and do chores instead of dealing with the cold and wind while i went out to play. Day started out with a bit of a dilemma, A pretty good size snow drift on the north end of my house had me worried about the weight and the sag on the ice. Drilled my holes in the house anyways and within seconds had 4" of water surrounding my house with the holes still gushing water. It was like I hit pay dirt on an oil drill except it was ice cold water flooding my house. There was no real wind at that time so decided to bump the house about 30 yards instead of blocking it up and waiting for the water to freeze, Glad I did. Today the lakers were on fire. All day on the camera 1 - 3 at a time. All nosing down on my jig but they wouldn't commit, just kept teasing me. I don't think i went more than 15 mins without seeing a laker. I was finally able to eat breakfast around 1:30pm. Ended the day with 7 Lakers and missed a bunch (visibility on the camera was very poor today) bringing my total to 11 lakers for the season. I was hoping to hit double digits today but the propane was running low and needed to leave the lake before 6 pm to get it filled up for tomorrow. Even while i was packing up i was still getting hits on my jig stick. Made it tough to leave. I had originally planned to have diner in the bobhouse but that got squashed with the propane situation. All lakers caught on a Gold / Purple Kastmaster with cut sucker meat. Smelt did nothing today. Tomorrows another day.......
