Started off jigging up yellows mostly dinks but a few fatties right off the bottom in 30FOW off a shelf. Pink jig head might have glow eyes tipped with worm slow jig off the bottom and raise a few feet. Tried to go up to 20 FOW get off the bottom and out of the yellows. Couldn’t find the whites until about 330 I would hit bottom bring it up to 25 FOW watch them follow it up and pull away another foot. You could see the yellows on the fish finder drop back to the bottom wouldn’t chase it any farther and then a significantly large mark follow. Slowly raised and left suspended and they were smashing it! For a good hour I couldn’t get my line back down quick enough until they moved on and it was back to yellows and time to go. Definitely need to drill two holes for jigging now as after today I’m sick of pulling the transducer or getting tangled. Kept a pair of 14”ers and some shorts should make a good meal.

Nice report, some goods eats there. And yup, 2 holes makes life easier.

It’s incredible how often lifting above the masses picks out the targets, whether that means spp out of a crowd or just larger fish of the same spp in a school.

Very nice man good job. I have 2 techniques for that scenario.  In addition to 2 holes.  When I know they are there like that i have 3 jig rods loaded at the ready. Also have your ice scoop handy. When it's a blitz.  As soon as those big wp get to the hole slide your scoop in sideways and get under it it's easy and works slick. Then flip it on the ice. Dont bother getting fish off the hook. Immediately drop down the next loaded rod. It works well in those situations.
