It is nice to get an early start.

I have already sold the vexilar. bought ICE 55
Also sold the shack I never used. (hole hop way to much!)

And I just placed an order for the Marmish jiging rod.

I am almost ready!

Winterized the camper this weekend and opened the door to the shack this afternoon. Ready for the cold weather and planning my weekend trip to the ice fishing show in Saint Paul this year. Never been there before and am really looking forward to it. Also saving up for the platinum malitia package. Look forward to meting others from here at the booth there.

Fin checking in! Put the camper away Monday, the boat winterized and put away yesterday, watching it rain today. Can't wait till first ice! Won't come soon enough!

Just got off the lake. Dressed in blue suit and ice armor boots. Kept the rain out nice and stayed warm. Crappies bit well also. I love puttin in the time in the fall and finding fish locations. Big leg up on everyone once ice comes.

Got the Beaver Dams greased, and re-lined.
4-wheeler is ready.
Still waiting on my new Tica reel though.

Would be nice if there was safe ice come deer season, but I ain't holding my breath.

Im back, ready to hit the ice on Puckaway and Fox this year the ATC is already parked at the lake and the open water junk is headed home in a couple of weeks and the ice stuff up.

Got the portable checked out and ready, rods in a the bucket, heater and stack of fresh tanks, brand new blades on my hand auger, and a brand new 4 wheeler parked next to it all. The only thing I really NEED to do is to make a tow bar for my sled. That won't take that long fab up.

Bring on the ice!

I use a Big Buddy heater and run it off a 20lb tank. With the shack being insulated I think I can count on one hand how many times the heater has even been off of just the low setting. And thats even with getting out an average of 50 times a season since I built the shack. I see you bought rattle reels. You must have a permanent shack. Got any pics? Always fun to see pictures of everybody elses stuff! Fin

Being 6 x 7, 2x4 walls covered with 1/4" plywood, treated plywood floor and roof and runners. I would guess probably it weighs somewhere in the 800-1000# range. Fin

Hey cool shack!! How big is that bad boy? Are u gonna insulate it? The first year I had mine I didn't and after I did boy did it make a difference. Fin

It's 5x11. Yea I've insulated the the walls with fiberglass bats. Last year I left 2 of the walls uninsulated, this year I finished insulating. The roof has 1" foam for insul. I have'nt insulated the floor yet. I've been thinking about spray foam for the floor. Also I'm contemplating using that spray-on bed liner on the entire outside. I still have to find out how much weight that would add.

Good Morning! I'm new to the site. Moused in following a link to an equipment mod, liked what I saw and signed up. Looks like there are some good resources here, I've got some experience to offer as well.

I'm more cranked for ice this year than usual. Perhaps it's the hangover of last season's lackluster finish............... Redemption!
