The ice is shot.

I talked to skip on fri I live 2.5 hours away. He said people were getting on at long point but he said they were tippy toeing on a couple inches of ice and he would not recommend it. I know this is a couch report but he talked us out of coming so take it for what it is worth. Mark

I'm wondering the same thing... Wondering if long point or mayville could be an option. Maybe 3-4". Not sure if there is any ice on those spots now or not. I see burtis is locked up.

Drove by Mayville this morning. Open water a ways out. Ice looked like junk. I put my stuff away for the year when I got home. Maybe will firm up for the weekend. But I doubt it

The Burtis cam is showing some ice. Anyone seen the middle of the south basin and/or the north basin? Kinda hoping most of it is still open so this snow doesn't pile up

Burtis has been ice up since Saturday not sure about the rest of the lake. At least you can still see ice and it isn't all snow... yet.

Hoping for some consistency in the cold temps. Been a while since I’ve been on the ice in Chautauqua. Anyone fish over the summer? Wonder how the numbers and sizing of perch are.

Hardly anyone will report on first ice,
Most likely you will have to drive there and find out, we are on Saturday morning.. everything here, Niagara county has 1.5-2.5",even 18 mile creek was frozen... 12 mile creek..also..so just be safe

For sure. Denny it’s not quite ready for you yet.

Took a ride around today. Everything stayed locked up from the tip of long point south. North side of the point was all busted up. FYI bathhouse parking lot is filled with job site trailers. Doing some work to the beach.

You guys think we will have safe ice out there 28-29th. Panning in hitting honeoye the 28th seeing as they usually have safe ice just before Chautauqua, would like to get out big days depending on how we do the 28th at honeoye id like to check Chautauqua out the 29th.

If the weatherpeople (not men anymore) are somewhat accurate with the temps, and snow kept to minimum there is a chance the lake will lock up. Bring on the cold!
