Ice fishing questions???
« on: Dec 12, 2011, 01:03 PM »
Good Afternoon:

I'd like to know if anyone would be able to help me out.  I am currently working on a magazine feature for The Fisherman Magazine due out this Jan. and I need a few good interviews.  I'm new to ice fishing and I would need a quick interview (email, phone etc) from anglers who live for ice fishing. You would get full credit for any photos or information in the article and would help out a fellow fisherman get into the ice fishing game.  Any info would be much appreciated!

Thanks for your time.

Sounds like fun.
Why dont you just hit the lake when fishing starts, especially first few weeks when hard core fishermen are out. You can do your interviews and info gathering right there.

Thats a good idea, RussianBear. I have a Jan. deadline for the magazine so I was trying to get some info before hand.  Auggie, the magazine is called The Fisherman Magazine and its local to NJ and NY.

Hitting the ice is by far the best thing you can do, but due to the poor conditions this year it's really not an option.  I would suggest pick out a few people at random and ask if they would like to help you out.  Not sure if that's against the rules of the site or not, but at least it would be a start.

Hi Guys:

Sorry for not getting back sooner, but for some reason I can't send messages to you guys... I just joined so I might have restrictions for messages.  I'd really like to do interviews with anyone who can help. i'll leave my email here so hopefully you can email me or send me a message with an email address.  This way I can send you a list of questions along with answering any questions you have.  Basically, the article will appear in The Fisherman Magazine a week or so after Jan. 15th.  I'm in need of some local knowledge and maybe even joining you guys on the ice (whenever we get any)

Drop me an email and we can chat more.

I'm with the Shanty crew J.R. The best way to get the info is to hit the ice hard this year and take lots of digital photography. Perhaps you can alter the article a bit to describe what a new angler goes through when first hitting the ice.

Ill pose nude for you in my rabbit fur bomber hat with a PBR in one hand and my pole in the other. It probably won't be publishable nor tasteful or pretty but it will be expensive. I want a new nils power auger and they don't come cheap.

I like the ICE Calendar idea.

As a matter of fact I'll propose Big Eddie Kozlo in a speedo for the January pin-up.

If he goes for it I'll do December or February.

OK Ed, balls in your court.     :icefish:    ::)    :icefish:
