haha good one.       just put 15 4 stroke kicker  on 21whaler. Filled 90 gl tank last fall. Good for the summer  won’t be hammering down the 225

Glad I repowered 23’CC in ‘20 from a 250G1 Evinrude to a Suzuki 200AP. Marginal performance loss for a significant increase in cruise economy. Average fishing day is 30-50 miles @ 6-12 gallons.

Good thing. By Summer you'll be buying gas by the teaspoon!  On my Lund Rebel SS, had a Johnson 30 HP. Could run up and down the river all day on about 3-4 gals. If I just putted and trolled the back shallows, hardly used any at all.
Yup, lobstering is going to be an expensive proposition,  my old 2 smoke 2+2  115 merc isnt a gas hog, but it's not stingy either. But I'll run it forever.

Oh I so agree. The high school years steal all your time away. But enjoy it. I've got twin 15 year olds. I'm hoping to steal all the honey holes soon. Fingers crossed!!

Not in the same league as y'all with the motors bigger than my boat  :roflmao: but I know whenever I do get another one, it will probably be another Zuki.

Into my 5th season with mine now, and all I've had to do is change the oil a couple times a year, and the gear oil and spark plug once a year. I did change out the impeller last year, but that was just prevenative more than anything... oh, and a couple props, but those were on me 😬

I work with kids in an urban high school in Massachusetts. I can tell you in the years that Ive worked with kids and their families, I have never once heard someone say I wish I spent less time with my kids, for fishing or anything else. If you are putting your children first you are doing the right thing for them and humanity. Just my .02

I’ll wager your going faster than 20k. I cruise around 20-22kn for 4.5-5 gph @ 3500-4000rpm with the 200 Suzuki. Lost about 4kn off WOT from the 250Etec, speed I never tapped.

Check the prop pitch and blade type. Can be a huge difference just in 1 deg pitch or two, and how your weight distribution is in the boat.

I built a jet boat and it's drab green.  I want to put "river patrol" on the side just to keep the riff raff away.
